Public information
The Coroner's Inquest into the death of Ian Tomlinson is resumed
on Monday 28 March 2011 at the IDRC, 70 Fleet Street, London EC4Y
1EU and is expected to last until early May 2011.
Priority for space in the Inquest hearing will be given to those
directly involved in the proceedings. A limited numbers of spaces
are set aside for accredited media and the general public. This
website will carry written transcripts.
Arrangements have also been made for the public and media to
watch the hearing from a court annexe located on the same floor.
This court annexe will be served by a live audio and video link to
the court room and members of the public and accredited media
will see and hear what is seen and heard in open court. The court
annexe will also have a running display of the transcript service
on view.
The court annexe is an extension of the court room itself with
the same rules and code of conduct. This means that when the court
is sitting the use of mobile telephones, laptops, other
communications or recording equipment, cameras and personal stereos
is governed by strict guidelines.
Smoking, eating and drinking is also not permitted, although
water is provided in the annexe.
